TTCI Congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aussara Punya on Receiving the L'Oréal Thailand "For Women in Science" 2026 Fellowship
November 16, 2026
The Thailand Hub of Talents in Cancer Immunotherapy (TTCI) extends its warmest congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aussara Punya, lecturer at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, on being awarded the prestigious L'Oréal Thailand "For Women in Science" Fellowship 2026 in the Life Sciences category.
The award ceremony took place on November 6, 2026, in Bangkok, where she was presented with a 250,000 THB research grant and a plaque of honor.
Advancing Next-Generation Cancer Immunotherapy
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aussara’s award-winning study focuses on "Evaluating the Efficacy of CD47-Targeted Tri-specific Killer Engager (TriKE) Protein to Activate Patient-Derived Natural Killer (NK) Cells in Eliminating Multiple Myeloma Cells ex vivo."
Her research explores engineered TriKE-CD47 proteins designed to simultaneously:
● Stimulate Natural Killer (NK) Cells: Enhance the innate cytotoxic activity of patient-derived NK cells against cancer cells.
● Block Immune Evasion Signals: Disrupt the CD47 "don't eat me" checkpoint signaling pathway that multiple myeloma cells exploit to bypass host immune surveillance.
This work directly aligns with TTCI’s core vision of driving high-impact, hospital-translatable immunotherapy solutions across Thailand's research network.
Empowering Women Leaders in Deep-Tech Science
The L'Oréal Thailand "For Women in Science" program—conducted in partnership with UNESCO for its 24th consecutive year—recognized four outstanding female researchers in 2026 across Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. Winners were selected from 89 competitive research proposals by a distinguished panel of national experts to honor deep science initiatives addressing critical healthcare and environmental challenges.
As a collaborative platform connecting cancer immunotherapy experts nationwide, ทีทีซีไอ takes immense pride in Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aussara’s achievement and remains committed to advancing innovative cellular and antibody-based therapies for Thai cancer patients.
