A new study has shown promising results for the use of fourth-generation CAR-T cell therapy in the treatment of breast cancer.
CAR-T cell therapy involves genetically modifying a patient’s own immune cells to recognize and attack cancer cells.
This approach has been successful in treating certain blood cancers, but its application to solid tumors like breast cancer has been challenging.
The new study found that fourth-generation CAR-T cells were more effective at killing breast cancer cells than previous generations of CAR-T cells.
The researchers are now planning to test this approach in clinical trials.
